Whitening

Many people wish to have a brighter smile and a professionally made whitening kit is the easiest and least invasive way to achieve this goal. A professionally fitted whitening kit consists of a set of custom made trays that fit over your teeth and a professional strength whitening gel that is used in conjunction with the trays.

We do not provide in-office laser whitening treatments as they can cause extreme tooth sensitivity in some patients and the resulting whitening result is often short-lived. Traditional whitening trays and a high quality whitening gel are proven to provide consistent and lasting whitening results with minimal chance of tooth sensitivity.

The Process

Whitening trays are a two-appointment procedure. Impressions of the upper and lower teeth are taken in the first appointment and are used to make custom-fit trays. At the second appointment, a pre-whitening tooth shade is taken and instructions are given on how to use the trays properly with the whitening gel.

The whitening process usually takes about two weeks for optimal results. The best way to prevent the sensitivity that is sometimes associated with whitening is to use a sensitive toothpaste for two weeks prior to and during whitening, and to use the whitening system at a slow and steady pace.
